ERPNext Customization Services

Your process, not a template. ERPNext that thinks ahead.

ERPNext customization and Frappe app development, with AI agents for approvals, data entry and forecasting.

What is ERPNext customization? ERPNext customization is the work of shaping ERPNext, the open-source ERP built on the Frappe framework, around your business. It ranges from custom fields, DocTypes and print formats to multi-stage workflows, scripted reports, integrations and standalone Frappe apps. Done properly, it stays outside the core so upgrades remain straightforward.

AI Automation

What can AI agents do inside ERPNext?

ERPNext already has scheduled jobs and notifications. Trained AI agents go further because they can read, judge and summarise.

We build these as agentic workflow automation on top of ERPNext, run by trained AI agents with a person in the loop for anything financial.

When does ERPNext need customization rather than configuration?

ERPNext handles a lot through settings alone: naming series, roles, standard workflows and report builder. Customization makes sense when a process has rules the settings can't express, when data must flow to another system, or when teams are keeping side spreadsheets to fill a gap. We check configuration first and only write code where it earns its place.

Frequently Asked Questions

ERPNext is open source, so there is no per-user licence fee. You still pay for hosting, whether on Frappe Cloud or your own server, and for any implementation, customization and support work. For many growing businesses, that mix costs less over time than licensed ERP, but it depends on your scope.

A custom field adds data to an existing document, like a Sales Order, and is set up through the interface. A custom app is a separate Frappe codebase holding new DocTypes, scripts, reports and integrations. Small changes suit fields; whole processes belong in an app so they stay upgrade-safe.

Yes. ERPNext exposes a REST API and supports webhooks, so it can sync orders, stock and customers with stores like Shopify or WooCommerce, and import bank statements for reconciliation. We map what syncs in each direction and how errors are flagged, so nobody has to fix mismatches by hand.

Yes. We map your chart of accounts, masters and open balances, run test migrations on a staging site, and share reconciliation reports so your accounts team can check totals before cutover. Historical transactions can be moved in full or summarised, depending on what you need for reporting and audits.

Each agent runs as its own ERPNext user with a role limited to its task. An invoice agent can create draft Purchase Invoices but cannot submit them, for example. Every action appears in the document's version history, so you always know what the agent changed and who approved it.

ERPNext suits businesses that want full open-source ownership and no per-user fees. Odoo suits those wanting a large catalogue of ready-made apps and are fine with Enterprise licensing. Both can be customized and extended with AI agents. Our Automation Opportunity Review compares them against your actual processes.
